The AstralPool NORM main drain is a pool floor suction fitting made of UV-resistant ABS with a choice of flat or anti-vortex grate. With 2" side and 1½" bottom connections it works at a maximum suction velocity of 0.5 m/s; white, beige, grey and anthracite concrete and liner models comply with EN 13451-1 / EN 13451-3.

The AstralPool NORM main drain is a pool floor suction fitting made of UV-resistant ABS with a choice of flat or anti-vortex grate. With 2" side and 1½" bottom connections it works at a maximum suction velocity of 0.5 m/s; white, beige, grey and anthracite concrete and liner models comply with EN 13451-1 / EN 13451-3.
All NORM main drains are made of UV-resistant ABS and are suitable for private and public pools. They are supplied with flat or anti-vortex grates and have 2" side and 1½" bottom connections. To prevent suction (entrapment) risks they must be used in line with local and international standards.
Under EN 16713-2:2016, new pools need only 1 main drain if an anti-vortex cover is used; without one, 2 drains at least 1 m apart must be installed, each able to carry 100% of the system flow if the other is blocked. The maximum suction velocity at the grate is limited to 0.5 m/s.
