In order to prepare a swimming pool in a healthy and proper condition ahead of every season, a variety of cleaning and disinfection chemicals are required. For this reason, receiving proper training on the use of cleaning and disinfection chemicals, or consulting a professional company, is the most correct approach.
Both for health and for aesthetic reasons, pool maintenance and periodic chemical control are the most important points to pay attention to. In order to bring the pool water to the desired values during the season, it must be checked regularly every day. The most important materials that ensure this are pool chemicals. There are many different pool chemicals, and their areas of use vary.
It must never be forgotten that even if a system has been built to standard and with quality equipment, unless the swimming pool is operated correctly, an unhealthy pool water will be the result.
The pool chemicals to be used during the season for swimming pools can generally be grouped as chlorine, pH reducer, algaecide, flocculant, clarifier (brightener), foot disinfectant, surface cleaner, ion remover, and winter maintenance chemical.
Review Our Pool Design and Consultancy ServicesBefore putting the pool into operation before the season, the maintenance of the pool equipment must first be carried out:

The filtration sand must be checked; the grain size, water leaks at connection parts, and manometer operation must be checked, and the sand renewed if necessary.

The pre-filter basket must be cleaned, the electrical wiring and rotation direction must be checked, and worn gaskets and connections must be replaced.

Dosing pumps, hoses, suction/discharge check valves, and electrodes must be checked and leak-tightness tests performed.

Cables must be checked (halogen-free), loose terminals tightened, and faulty switches/relays replaced with new ones.

Underwater lamps must be tested, sealing gaskets renewed, and the isolation refreshed with special silicone.

Transformers must be isolated from moisture and corrosion, and system safety checked with LED-indicator transformers.

Before water filling, the PVC piping valves, check valves, and pipelines must be pressurized and checked for leaks.
To prepare the swimming pool for the season, the water remaining from the winter months must be drained. The pool is then washed with clean water to remove residues. Coating surfaces must be cleaned with a brush using acid diluted with water.
Occupational safety rules must always be followed during the cleaning process. Work must never be carried out without gloves, boots, and goggles. After cleaning with acid, the surfaces must be rinsed with plenty of clean water within a short time so that the joints are not damaged.
After cleaning, the acidic and dirty water remaining in the pool must be drained without fail. Afterwards, algaecide must be applied to the pool walls with the help of a brush. Once drying is complete, depending on air temperature (recommended duration: 1 day), the pool must be filled with clean water.
The pool water must always be of clean drinking-water quality. In well or tanker water of unknown properties, the presence of high iron, manganese, and lime can cause serious problems. For this reason, filling the pool with mains (municipal) water is recommended.

Important Warning: In liner-coated and inflatable pools, granular chlorine may cause bleaching; liquid or tablet products should be preferred for this type of pool. All pool chemicals must be approved by the Ministry of Health and must have an MSDS form.
